Internally we handle the content as Unicode and write it out by default as UTF-8. UTF-8 is similar to CP1252 on Windows but changes for quotes and some other characters.
We recommend using UTF-8 and telling the browser so it will handle it correctly on all platforms. Encoding is configurable within the software:
You also have to tell the browser what is being used. If you are using BuildVu, we set it in the header HTML tags with:
<meta charset="utf-8" />
if you are using our converted content in your own wrapper, you will need to add this.
