Failed to connect, you must have access to the internet to use the trial.

The trial version of BuildVu requires an internet connection to verify the trial license. Paid versions of BuildVu do not require an internet connection.

When using the BuildVu trial for the first time, you may receive the following error message:

Failed to connect, you must have access to the internet to use the trial.

If you are using Windows, this may be because you need to allow Java through the firewall in Windows Defender.

To resolve this, search for “Allow an app through Windows Firewall” in the Windows Start menu.

Open the program and look for entries for Java. Common names are “OpenJDK Platform binary” or “Java(TM) Platform SE binary”.

Make sure the Java entries have ticks in the right columns. You will need to click the “Change settings” button above the table in order to modify the settings.
